bigbadabruce asked: The build up to the scene where the prisoners are examined, including the mirror being cleaned and prepared, was a strongly haunting scene. As was the scene where Sands struggles out of the bathtub.

For the first time in 12 Years...
I am watching Jurassic Park. It is work of art, let’s be honest with ourselves. Its one of the highlights in Spielberg’s career, American cinema, and creative film-making… What do you think about it? Favorite scenes? Scariest moment watching it as a kid?  Comments about the film overall? “With this place I wanted to show them something that wasn’t an...

The Beaver.
“We reach a point in order to go on we have to wipe the slate clean. We start to see ourselves as a box that we’re trapped inside and no matter how we try and escape, self help, therapy, drugs, we just sink further and further down. The only way to truly break out the box is to get rid of it all together… I mean we built it in the first place. If the people around you are...

Melancholia (Lars von Trier; 2011)
Has anyone else seen the preview for this film? I honestly would not even know how to begin to categorize the genre… It appears to be a hybrid of like ten different things rolled into one, and at the same time it looks like an immensely intriguing and visually stunning piece of work with a great selection of actors and actresses.

Moments of Wisdom in Film
I’ve decided that given the influx of screenshots that I take from various movies (often times with subtitles inserted in), I might (instead of writing reviews, which I’m sure no ones really reads) just starting doing small editorials on the life lessons or glimmers of logic that appear in that scene. Sound good?
